Olamide and Dagrin are two Yoruba lyrics phenomenon, who have definitely carved a niche for themselves. While the former is still alive, the latter has gone to the great beyond, but his memories still lingers. That is why I thought of this sort of comparison. Especially, considering the fact that Olamide is now the rave of the moment. Just like Dagrin became a household name in the Nigerian music industry, "Badoo", as Olamide is usually fondly called, has as well broken and made his way to the top of the game. "Badoo" has now become a trending slang among Nigerian youths. Even my 1year old nephew always mutter "First of all, bend down low", one of Olamide's popular songs.
Would Olamide really be the rave if Dagrin had been alive? Or would there have been a stiff competition between these two geniuses?
While still musing these, I checked through my contacts on BBM, to check what they are up to, I saw something that got my attention...found out that someone, Whale, had actually dissed Olamide, calling him a fake Dagrin. I no fit laugh for Nigerian music industry o...Everyone seeking for cheap popularity.
Listen to the song here
Anyway, I wouldn't want to do a lot of exposition, let's here what you have got to say.
